Description of Presentation
This two-hour presentation will provide an overview of the laws and regulations applicable to pre-licensees as they work toward licensure in marriage and family therapy. Topics to be discussed include the marriage and family therapy licensing process, supervised experience requirements for applicants, supervisor qualifications and the new supervision requirements, licensing examinations, and common employment issues pre-licensees encounter with their supervisors.

Educational Goals
Participants will gain a greater understanding of the licensure process, the rules and requirements, and the challenges facing pre-licensees working toward licensure.

Measurable Learning Objectives

• Participants will be able to identify the requirements for counting hours toward licensure.
• Participants will be able to state the number of hours and the number of weeks of supervised experience pre- licensees are required to meet.
• Participants will be able to identify how the “new” 90-day rule pertaining to post-degree hours differs from the “old” 90-day rule. Participants will be able to identify appropriate work settings and common labor issues that arise in the employment of pre-licensees

This is appropriate for all levels.

Award of Course Completion Certificates:
Upon completion of course, attendees will receive a Certificate for 2 CEUs or a Certificate for 2 Attendance Hours after completing a course evaluation.

Registration closes on Thursday May 25, 2023 at 12:00 Noon. Refunds may be provided prior to the close of registration, minus a $5 registration refund fee. No refunds are available after the close of registration. No partial credit is given for arriving late or leaving early.

Sierra Foothills CAMFT is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, and LEP as well as non-licensed AMFT, ASW, APCC, graduate students and trainees. Provider number is 97723. This course meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, and LEP as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
