The Sierra Foothills Chapter of CAMFT presents

Supporting Children Through Grief and Loss

with Carolyn Whiteman, LMFT

Carolyn Whiteman

Saturday, April 18, 2015

9:30am to 12:00pm

Helping any client through the grief process is difficult and delicate work. With child clients who have experienced a loss, therapists need tools to help the child and the family to work through the challenges. This training can provide you with some of these tools and interventions and we are proud to have Carolyn Whiteman, LMFT, presenting this topic. Carolyn has experience and expertise working with children, teens, couples and families with grief and other issues in her practice. Prior to this, she developed and managed the Children’s Bereavement Program at Sutter Health Medical Foundation in Yuba City. This training will include a hands-on art intervention and help the clinician to:

~ Review grief and the process of moving thorough difficult emotions
~ Feel more confident speaking to families about death and the challenges surrounding loss
~ Gain insight into children's understanding of death
~ Learn how to assess the needs of grieving children
~ Gain simple interventions that can greatly benefit children and people of all ages

Training includes continental breakfast and fresh fruit!

We will begin the morning with our monthly Chapter meeting.

See you there!
