Robin Zasio, Psy.D., LCSW, presents on Social Anxiety

Dr. Robin Zasio, Psy.D., LCSW, is a specialist in treating OCD and anxiety disorders utilizing CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention techniques. She developed The Anxiety Treatment Center of Sacramento, Roseville, and El Dorado Hills. Dr. Zasio serves on the Scientific Advisory Board, Clinical Advisory Board, and Speakers Bureau for the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, and is also faculty for their Behavioral Training Institute. She is the Author of The Hoarder in You: How to Live a Happier, Healthier, Uncluttered Life. Dr. Zasio is a featured doctor on the A & E hit series Hoarders and Host of My Extreme Animal Phobia on Animal Planet.

Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) affects nearly 15 million adults and represents approximately 7% of the U.S. population. Specialized treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) are the front-line evidence-based treatment modalities that have proven effectiveness. This presentation will outline the principles and application of these modalities, a discussion on the brain chemistry that contributes to the condition of social anxiety, with case examples and time for questions and answers.

Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to outline the principles and application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when treating clients with Social Anxiety Disorder.
  2. Participants will be able to outline the principles and application of Exposure and Response Prevention when treating clients with Social Anxiety Disorder.
  3. Participants will be able to outline the brain chemistry which contributes to the condition of Social Anxiety Disorder.

This course meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Sierra Foothills CAMFT is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs. Sierra Foothills CAMFT maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. Sierra Foothills CE Provider # is 97723.

This course also meets the qualifications for 2 hours of attendance credit for Associate Marriage and Family Therapists, Associate Social Workers, trainees and graduate students as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Registration for this event closes Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 6 p.m. There is a $5 late registration fee for attendees registering at the door so be sure to register early!  Refunds will be provided to registrants up to and until the close of registration, minus a $5 registration fee. There are no refunds after the close of registration.  There is no partial credit for arriving late or leaving early.

Important Notice: Any power point and/or hand-outs will be emailed two days before the training. Please print and bring to the training or use your electronic device at the workshop. Continuing Education or Course Completion Certificates may be emailed to participants.

Going East on I80 from Roseville, Rocklin, etc., take the Grass Valley Highway exit. Turn right at the light, which is Highway 49 South. Go to Lincoln Way and take a right. Go to next stoplight, which is Auburn-Folsom Road, and take a left. Continue through several stoplights (approximately 1.5 miles). Turn left onto Maidu Drive. Continue on Maidu Drive through several stop signs for about 1.2 miles, at which point Maidu Drive curves sharply to the left. Continue on Maidu Drive for about 0.2 miles. Canyon View Community Center is on the right and is a light yellow/tannish building with green trim. There will be the Sierra Foothills CAMFT poster on the door.

Going West on I 80 from Colfax, etc., take the Elm Avenue exit. Get into the left turn lane immediately and turn onto Elm Avenue. Continue on Elm Avenue and turn left onto Grass Valley Highway. Continue on Grass Valley Highway to Lincoln Way and take a right. Go to next stoplight, which is Auburn-Folsom Road and take a left. Continue through several stoplights (approximately 1.5 miles). Turn left onto Maidu Drive. Continue on Maidu Drive through several stop signs for about 1.2 miles, at which point Maidu Drive curves sharply to the left. Continue on Maidu Drive for about 0.2 miles.
