Dr. Robert  Pellerin earned  a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco in 2003 and is a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist with a practice in Roseville,  CA. He received his PhD in Arts & Sciences in 2010 from Union Institute and University. In 2013, he earned certificates from the Zur Institute as an Internet Addiction therapist, and in TeleMental Health & Digital Ethics.

This training is designed to introduce participants to the facets and treatment of Internet Addiction.  Among the topics covered in this presentation will be: Identifying, assessing and treating those with internet addiction; distinguishing between everyday uses of the internet in contrast with risks and pitfalls for children and adolescents, defining and treating cybersex addiction; iGeneration and  impact and prevention of cyber bullying.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this training, the participants will be able to:

  • Assess and treat internet addiction
  • Analyze the impact of safe versus unsafe uses of the internet among
    children and adolescents
  • Identify and treat Cybersex Addiction
  • Recognize terminology and concepts particular to the iGeneration
  • Distinguish between compulsive over users and thriving digital natives
  • Be aware of the consequences and prevention of cyber bullying

The course will meet the requirements for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs. The Sierra Foothills Chapter of CAMFT is an approved CEU provider (PCE #4807) through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Training fees are as follows:

Licensed members - $25
Pre-licensed Members - $20
Licensed Nonmembers - $35
Pre-licensed Nonmembers - $30

Important Notice:  Hand-outs will be emailed 2-days before the training.  Please print and bring to the training.

Registration for this event closes on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at midnight.

There is a $5 late registration fee for attendees registering at the door, so be sure to register early!
