April 19, 2014

Dear Membership,

As 2014 President of the Sierra Foothills Chapter of CAMFT, I am looking forward to serving the Chapter alongside of our Board of Directors in providing training events that are interesting, useful, and provide techniques that enhance your professional experience.  This year, we plan to create a Member Directory on our website and develop our 3000 Club for MFT Interns.  There are many changes statewide and within the Chapter.

Statewide members participated in the Save CAMFT effort which resulted in CAMFT maintaining their focus on LMFTs and MFT Interns issues. We had our first ever election of State CAMFT Board of Directors selected from within our CAMFT Chapters. The new Board of Directors has been hard at work in Washington D.C. influencing Congress in changing legislation to include LMFTs in Medicare and remove hiring restrictions within the Department of Veterans Affairs. For updates go to http://camft.org

Locally, this is the first year we are participating in the NAMI Walk on May 3rd and hope that you’ll consider joining us. We are always striving to select the best quality presenters for our trainings. As costs have increased, our trainings will only go up by $5 and this will take effect with our May 17th training.  We will continue to meet at the Holiday Inn, Auburn as this is a central location with easy access and plenty of parking. You earn CEUs, network with other LMFTs, MFT Interns and associated professionals while enjoying a continental breakfast.

We’ve enjoyed the lowest Annual Membership Dues in the State. At our Annual Chapter Membership Meeting held April 19, 2014, we announced a $10 increase to our Annual Membership Dues to be effective July 1, 2014. Even with this increase, we remain far below the average. If you have paid your 2014 dues, you will not be affected until next year. If you have not, you have until June 30th to renew at the lower rate.

If you missed our  Annual Chapter Membership Meeting, the membership approved two items:

  1. Bylaws - Change in Business Office address (see our website).
  2. The Proposed 2014 Budget for the Chapter was presented by our Chief Financial Officer and approved as presented. For more info, go to https://www.sierrafoothillscamft.org/

Each of you is an integral part of our Chapter’s success and I thank you for your continued support through your participation in events, membership renewal and volunteering.
