Title:
Lifespan Integration

General Description:
This workshop presents a modality for treating trauma victims that does not retraumatize--Lifespan Integration--by Peggy Pace, M.A. Lifespan Integration is a new technique which promotes rapid healing in adults who experienced abuse and/or neglect during childhood. It is based on the premise that trauma memories are not stored the same way as regular life memories. Therefore, when healing trauma, it is most helpful to integrate those trauma memories into the regular life memories.

Educational Goals:
Attending this workshop will add to participants’ knowledge of how to use Lifespan Integration in therapy sessions. This gentle method works on a deep neural level to change a client’s old patterned responses and outmoded defensive strategies.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Utilize 2 protocols used in Lifespan Integration processing.
  2. Identify 4 specialized uses for Lifespan Integration.
  3. Summarize 4 common obstacles to Lifespan Integration processing.

Presenter:
Dean Bender, LMFT, has had a private practice for seven years in Rocklin, CA, working with teens and adults. He treats mood disorders, marriages, relationships, and teaches social skills. In 2016, he added trauma to his protocol. He has conducted workshops for professionals on personality assessments, couple's therapy, and CBT and has taught 30 college courses. He has served in two small psychotherapy professional organizations as a member of the board of directors, secretary, treasurer and is currently the president of Sierra Foothills Chapter of CAMFT. He earned a master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 2002, worked for 11 years at LDS Family Services as a part-time therapist. He has a master's degree in business administration (MBA) and is a retired Certified Public Accountant.
